Apr 4, Yogi Adityanath’s
government has
affected major changes
in the history books for
classes 11 and 12 by
deleting Mughal history
from the syllabus.
The changes were made
by the National Council
of Educational Research
and Training (NCERT) in
June 2022. The UP
Board of High School
and Intermediate has
adopted the NCERT
books as text books for
classes 11 and 12. The
revised syllabus will
come into force from
the next academic
session ie 2023-24.

topics on ‘Kings and

coach in a moving train in
Kerala, has been arrested
from Ratnagiri in
Maharashtra. Saifi set fire
to the D1 coach of the
Alappuzha-Kannur Express

and passengers. Three,

withdrawn.
The SC observed political
leader with better access
to courts, could not
assert a higher level of
immunity than an
ordinary citizen. Any
shrinking space for
opposition should be
tackled in the political
arena, not in the court, it
added. The observations
come as a shot in the
arm for Central agencies.
